With the Squares, it's like playing at home. Going out and
ten minutes later, see them live in town. The Squares mean
for me the P'tit Zing headquarters with Dédé behind
the counter. It means the concerts in a place we miss, the
rehearsals with the guys of the band "Panik" in the next room.
The influence of the Headcoats on their stuff is real, but
they shouldn't be reduced to the label "French Headcoats".
They have a bigger debt to the whole Medway scene, to which
they will dedicate an entire album. The only time we saw
Billy in Nancy was at the P'tit Zing with the Squares opening
for the Headcoats. And all was said.
The Squares, 3 guys : Nick (guitar/vox), Stanley (bass) and Oli (drums)
who toured in the whole country (with a crash for every van they had
on tour, rock'n'roll attitude !) and abroad. It's also a garage-like
discography with not less than five albums and a bunch of singles.
They took afterwards different ways, but the beat is still here ...
my baaaaby's gone ... yeah yeah she's gone !!!

The next step for Nick and Stan (except the live appearances of
Nick alone with guitar and drums in the name of "Nick and the Beatnicks"
opening for various bands, at the P'tit Zing, or at the Caveau des Doms),
is named as "Thundercrack".
The two fellows play the guitar (original Roadrunner Guitars made by
Stanley himself), and imagine a Gories-type stuff, very primitive,
without useless things, and for this purpose, have a drummer who has
just started learning the drums (but with former musical activities),
which is the case of Sacha, who plays on the first single.
But afterwards, Jay join the band (musical past with the Sniffin' ghouls,
Panik on the Bitch, Sux Five, Sux Evulsors, and now in a one man band knpwn
as King Automatic). The photograph of the drummer on the single is Jay's.
After several concerts, the band gets on well, tours, and plays
with bands like the Revelators. And in september 98, is issued
their debut LP on Estrus Rds, which gathers their hits, nervous
songs like "I wanna be the one" or more bluesy ones.

In Yvy, since 2010 plays Stanley (vocals, guitar),
"Gasoline" Bud (drums, vocals), King Automatic (organ, guitar and harp)
Eddy (la) Gooyatsh (mix & producer) et Jack Jealous (bass, vocals from 2011 to 2014).
An album issued in 2013, the next one is planned.

And what's about Oli ? We see them in several bands, and suddenly,
is issued an album of Oli as Mr Zero on Get Hip. He makes the
whole stuff on the album alone. Apart from the Mr Zero project,
he also plays with the Freaks (with ex-Mothers, a legendary band
in Nancy) we already saw live in Nancy.
